Although valued for their iconicity, for a tall building to work economically, it must also be efficiently organized, well-placed within the metropolis, and operationally sound. As cities become megacities, it is increasingly incumbent on the developer to ensure fluid connectivity both within the tall building complex, and that the complex is tapped into a smooth-flowing network that extends into the metro region and beyond. If tens of thousands of workers, shoppers and visitors are expected to occupy a complex each day, the appeal of the development is greatly enhanced if it is located near a transit hub and well-managed.
This program took place at the Ping An Finance Center, a three-tower complex located adjacent to the Futian high-speed rail and metro station, which demonstrates excellence in both internal and external connectivity, incorporating Shenzhen’s tallest building.
